Course FAQ

Let's make someone smile together :)

Do I need to make hotel arrangements?

Not for the Memphis course- we handle those arrangements for you & email you the confirmation number. For each course we select a host hotel. We procure a group rate at the hotel and pass those savings along to you. Your tuition fee does not include your hotel fees however our group rate is usually 30-40% off the normal room rate.

For the course in Las Vegas- we found that many people wanted to select their own hotel because Las Vegas is a destination location.  You are responsible for making your own hotel arrangements.  We will meet as a group on Friday morning for breakfast at a specified location on the strip (one of the major resorts).

Do I need to rent a car?

No. We recommend you take a taxi from the airport to the host hotel (7-10 minute ride). We provide transportation from the hotel to the cadaver lab, & back to the hotel at the end of the day. We also ride together as a group to dinner.

What do I need to bring with me?

Upon registration you will receive a “pre-course materials packet” via email. This contains all of the information you will need: pack list, schedule, pre-course reading & other odds and ends related to the course.

What do I wear in the Lab?

We provide scrubs for you to wear in the Cadaver Lab; they will be waiting for you at then hotel when you arrive.

Can I buy a TAD Kit at the course?

 Sure!

I already use a TAD System in my office…

Great! Dr. Fisher has experience with almost every system available (he has placed a TON of TADs). Obviously each system has it’s nuances but the information and experience you will gain in the Lab will be invaluable no matter what system you use.

Can I fly out on Saturday afternoon (the last day of the course)?

The lecture will conclude at 4:30 on Saturday afternoon. It takes about 10 minutes to get to the airport from the hotel. The Memphis airport is pretty small, so if you are there one hour before your flight is scheduled to depart you should be fine. Please let us know if you will be leaving on Saturday because we make your hotel reservations for Thursday- Sunday.

Can I bring my study group to the course?

Yes. We frequently have study groups attend the course. If you are interested in scheduling a private course click here.

What placement areas are covered in the Cadaver Lab?

 1. Anterior Placement

2. Posterior Placement

3. Palatal Approach Placement

4. Infrazygomatic Placement

What about retro-molar placement for uprighting molars?

You will learn a more effective way to upright molars! There are several downsides to retro-molar placement: 1. There is very little bone in the retro-molar area (see pic) 2. The long buccal nerve and the lingual nerve cross in this area & there is risk of striking a nerve upon insertion 3. Uprighting molars from this placement site requires two steps: 1- upright the molar 2- close the space left after molar was uprighted. You will learn an effective, ironclad way to upright molars in one step by uprighting and translating the roots forward in one step. Interested in more about molar uprighting?
