In The Cadaver Lab
Cadaver Lab Experience
THE ULTIMATE HANDS-ON LEARNING EXERCISE
You learn on fresh, unembalmed cadaver specimens- so that awful formaldehyde smell you remember from dental school is not present. The tissue is frozen & then thawed for your learning exercise. You will be working in a realistic orthodontic environment with human bone & tissue. All tissue specimens have been screened in multiple toxicity & infectious disease tests, in accordance with the Department of Health & Human Services regulations.
Placing Mini-implants
Step-by-step placement protocol & removal protocol
You will learn step by step protocol from Anesthesia, Placement, Removal & Complications. You will experience the feel of placing mini-implants in an ideal environment. Much of your success with mini-implants depends on your tactile skills; the cadaver lab is the ideal place to develop these skills & guarantee your success with skeletal anchorage. You will learn a proven method for success in a realistic environment, with a stable system. When an anchor is properly placed, it will most likely remain stable under normal orthodontic forces.
Learning Format
Rich Content & an unforgettable experience
We have found the “see & do” method to be the best. First Dr. Fisher will demonstrate the procedure (anesthesia, placement, removal) while you watch. Then you will perform the procedure yourself. Dr. Fisher will walk around the lab from station to station to monitor & field any questions.
